One of Ghana's key protected areas, officially opened in 1994. The park conserves a large tropical rainforest covering about 360 km² located mainly in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District, about 20 km north of Cape Coast. Home to 7 primate species, over 500 butterfly species, and 250 bird species. Its famous canopy walkway rises 30 metres above the forest floor, offering a rare rainforest experience.
A natural umbrella-shaped rock formation located in a small forest. Culturally significant to the Bremang people, who regard it as sacred and as a symbol of cultural learning. Its shade can accommodate about 40 people, making it suitable for sightseeing and camping.
Located on River Surowi near Mbem, this waterfall has great potential for picnicking, educational tours and research. The district also has a historic spring water site which has served as a source of potable water for over 300 years.
Believed to be linked to the settlement of the Akwamu people during the 13th and 14th centuries. Excavations have revealed domestic tools, making the site ideal for education and historical sightseeing.
A large cave-like rock that once sheltered travellers moving to and from the coast. Suitable for caving, rock climbing and camping, offering a unique adventure experience in the district.
The district is home to several important sacred sites including the Odum Kwaku Shrine, Emipom Ancestral Sacred Grove and Banaso Sacred Grove. These places preserve traditional beliefs and cultural heritage of the communities.
