Births and Deaths Registry
The Births and Deaths Registry was established by Act 301 of 1965. Its core business is to provide accurate and reliable information on all births and deaths occurring within Ghana for socio-economic development.
Mandate
Attain universal births and deaths registration in Ghana by accurately recording, certifying and managing all vital events within the district.
Core Activities & Services
- Legalization of registered Births and Deaths.
- Storage and management of births and deaths records and registers.
- Issuance of Certified Copies of Entries in the Registers.
- Effecting corrections and insertions in the Registers upon request.
- Preparation of documents for exportation of remains of deceased persons.
- Processing documents for exhumation and reburial of remains.
- Verification and authentication of birth and death certificates.
